TThe main target of the research group is to focus on the theoretical and numerical assessment of structures of double curvature composed by very innovative materials. A constant research work is taken on the geometrical description of structures and the multiscale implementation of advanced innovative materials. Homogenization techniques are provided for honeycomb and lattice structures.

Several structural theories with three-dimensional capabilities are developed for the analysis of disparate structures, and they are always validated with refined high computationally demanding numerical techniques. Insights on the fracture mechanics accounts for the interface problems in laminated structures, accounting for both linear and non-linear constitutive relationships for anisotropic materials.
